Description
The Material Handler performs activities in support of the Hartford Lubricants blending and packaging plant operations. The Material Handler works to ensure customer requirements are met to support company targets and goals. This position is a 1st shift; Monday- Friday from 7am to 3:30pm. This is a union represented position.
Responsibilities may include :
+ Demonstrating Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) due diligence
+ Receiving, shipping, and moving materials and supplies around the plant, either manually or by mechanical means
+ Off-loading, inspecting, auditing, and approving receipt of incoming raw materials to ensure timely and accurate stock and cost accounting
+ Performing necessary equipment adjustments to maximize production, safety, and quality
+ Loading finished product on transport trailers, in a safe and efficient manner to ensure timely deliveries and optimize customer service
+ Organizing and maintaining raw material inventory to ensure adequate stock and operating flexibilities
+ Performing cycle counting as necessary to ensure accurate raw material inventory
+ Interfacing with material management computer system (SAP), which includes printing production pick-list and production blend data, and use the BAR CODE scanner interface
+ Communicating effectively with co-workers and external drivers during the shift and at shift relief regarding key process and equipment information.
+ Adapting to schedule changes and/or overtime as needed to meet the customer demand
+ Committing to and support the HSEQ policies and procedures
+ Committing to and provide support for the goals and vision of the Hartford Leadership Team
+ Maintaining housekeeping in respective area
Qualifications
Basic/Required :
+ Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent or higher
+ Must have a current valid driver's license
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
+ Beginner level of proficiency using a keyboard and basic computer knowledge
+ Experience operating a forklift
+ Willingness and ability to perform and comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
+ To operate a forklift
+ To lift up to 55 pounds
+ To walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material daily
+ To work in a plant environment and outside in harsh weather conditions
+ To work alone or in a team setting
+ To wear personal protective equipment (such as hard hat, steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection, etc.)
+ To work occasional overtime when needed
Preferred :
+ Working knowledge of SAP Production Planning & Sales & Distribution Modules
+ Working knowledge of manufacturing plant operations and processes

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
